A Photographic Tour of Wellington

The previous post seems to have formatting issues, so here goes with a purely photographic presentation of an incredibly sunny and calm spring day in Wellington-- quite unusual, we gather, so enjoy it while it lasts. Above are views from our apartment.

This is the Parliament building-- hints of the old country, circa Queen Victoria, followed by a lily pond at the Botanical Garden.

This beach (Karaka Bay) is on the peninsula on the eastern side of Wellington, beyond the airport. Interestingly, these areas used to separated by sea until an earthquake in the 1850's pushed a land mass upwards, joining the regions together. However, a mountain had to be removed and levelled to make room for the airport, which joins the two sections.

Just remember-- it's springtime here!
